Prevent Heart Attacks and Limit the Effects of Smoking with Fish Oil?

The University of Edinburgh, one of the universities involved in the recent study of the effects of fish oil on the brain is now going to investigate the potential of using fish oil to prevent heart attacks. What's particularly interesting is their desire to test on smokers as well as non-smokers. Dr. Din, the doctor spearheading the research explained: "We need smokers for this study because we know smoking can impair blood vessel function and increase inflammation, and we are interested to learn if fish oil supplementation can counteract these effects." Fish oil now being tested to prevent the detriment caused by smoking? Very interesting! I can see the fish industry's marketing campaign now:
