This thinning of the blood is a little overstated. Fish oil does have an anti-coagulative effect; but most people's blood is chronically thick anyway; 30g a day is what I take, and have done for 5+ years and my annual blood work is always outstanding. Fish-oil will return your blood to its rightful consistency; don't worry about blood thinning effects unless you are already on blood thinning medication (e.g. aspirin etc.) - in that case consult your doctor before supplementing with fish oil.

"I recommend 5-10g daily for my clients and consume 15-30g daily myself." Peter, won't these amounts thin the blood too much?

I know that fish oil is good for you. My grandmother and grandfather take it for heart health. She had open heart surgery and the doctor told her to start taking it to help strengthen her heart muscles.

I'm not quite sure whether fish oil contributes to weight loss.

However, I'm pretty sure that it reduces our cholestrol level.

My mother takes it everyday and never had problem with high blood pressure.

Given that, it doesn't hurt to try this Omega-3.

Thanks for this valuable info.

My husband has noticed his memory is better taking fish oil. We also just started taking it 3 x's a day to lower cholesterol. We'll see how that works.

Fish oil is amazing. It prevents many types of cancers, helps in brain development, lowers cholesterol, and even can protect you from heart attacks and stroke. I'd highly recommend it to those who don't regularly eat fish 2-3 times per week.

My husband takes fish oil one per day and he told me that it is very helpful especially for people over 35 years of age. So I am going to do it too.
