Amazing news out of the UK, for hopeful parents: 184 teenagers aged 15-16 at a school for the behaviorally-challenged were givenfish oil supplements for 12 weeks prior to taking the GCSE (General Certificate Of Secondary Education). This is the standardized education test given to teenagers in the UK. The results are astounding:
A total of 34% passed five GCSEs at grade C or higher, compared with 27% in 2004. On average, they exceeded the results predicted for them by one grade.
Pupils taking omega 3 fish oil also did significantly better than expected in reading tests set by researchers. Girls showed the biggest improvement after taking fish oil.
It makes perfect sense. Fish oil has been touted dozens of times for helping concentration, memory and language skills, as well as to lower impulsivity and distractibility. Imagine what kind of grades your son or daughter would get if they were taking fish oil regularly. How about the SAT and ACT? GMAT? LSAT? MCAT? The possibilities are endless!
